A lovely article. My wife’s favourite flowers are tulips and iris – and I remember this by thinking ‘eyes = iris’ and ‘two lips = tulips’.

Thanks, For the flower meanings I have my own flower site so the information is very useful.

Personally I prefer to give my girl Roses as nothing says I love you better than a dozen long stem red roses and maybe some nice chocolates.

I like that what Orange in Lily means: I burn for you. And I am ecstatic about the meaning of Primrose: I can’t live without you. And the Tulip also: Multi-colored means you have beautiful eyes and Yellow is hopelessly in love.

And we could also make our own interpretations of different flowers and plants, and everything under the sun that we want to give to our love ones. Like we could interpret a Rose as a lips waiting for the wind or like abandoned or solitary love, it depends on the metaphor of the giver. I know that with utmost sincerity, girls will understand and appreciate it.
