It can be frustrating sometimes. I remember one person I messaged online if she would had a few minutes to chat - she replied sure! I attempted an icebreaker. Sice half her profile was about being a kindergarten teacher with a corny sense of humour. I said, let me try a kindergarten introduction - "My name is xyz and I like chocolate". She said she didn't pay attention to lame jokes - blocked me and stopped the conversation immediately :P. Geez. Does it hurt much to be polite to someone online? People don't deserve the block and burn treatment, unless they've been rude or disrespectful. At least a polite goodbye, instead of basically a "you're lame, get lost?"

Sadly, that's the online world for you. It's very easy to be rude to someone when there are no consequences, and brings out people's real attitude towards humanity.

Hi Betty, sorry I didn't reply sooner, been a bit unwell.

15 filrts in a row .... I'd call that sad and desperate. The bugaboo's that turn up again as if nothing happened always ring "married" alarm bells to me .. of course the phone may ring or someone come to the door but it makes me start to disect their behaviour.

I appreciate you talking about online rudeness. What would you call someone leaving 15 flirts, in a roll? I try to take the time and return all messages, even if I am not interested, however, I find that some are like you mentioned or they become a bugaboo...saying brb, and never return, or return another day and act like nothing happened.

Personally, I say that you should deal with rudeness in the same way wherever it happens - pay it no attention, do not fuel the fire and ignore it with silence. What is more frustrating than being ignored?
