Hi Irene

If you are sure they are going to be disturbed then personally I would contact the British Hedgehog Preservation Society and ask then to arrange for the hedgehogs to be relocated somewhere safe.

There is a list of phone numbers for regional hedgehog help here http://www.britishhedgehogs.org.uk/carers.htm

Hi
I am replacing fences and was about to take down my shed but it looks like I have 2 hedgehogs living in it - anyway both sleeping in it this afternoon. 1 hedgehog looks pretty big. Contractor comes in next week to do fences. I can leave the base of the shed intact and fence round the back of it but should I move the hedgehogs out rather than frighten them when the contractor comes?

We are extremely fortunate to have a hedgehog(s) visit our garden and feed and drink from the feeding box. One evening recently, we saw five sightings - at least two hedgehogs given the size difference.

It's amazing how many people believe the bread and milk myth, so you're not alone Yorkshire Pantry. If you have cats why not swap to dog food for the hedgehog ... try to find a brand the cats don't like.

We had a hedgehog this autumn - I hope it'll stick around and find somewhere good to overwinter. A thought - maybe it's attracted to the grand state of disarray in our garden... Any excuse not to do the weeding!
