Hello my name is Sally, that's me on the right, welcome to my website. I live on my family's cold farm in Cumbria and I love it. However, one of the things I noticed after moving to Cumbria, a few years ago now, was how difficult it is to meet new people. The local pub tends to have the same regulars playing dominoes, families having dinner out and as the years creep on everyone you meet is married, so at the suggestion of my Mum I gave online dating a go. I had the usual doubts about security and privacy but soon found them to be unfounded as long as I was careful.

A number of issues struck me over time, like the "No Profiles Found" message. "But you boast 'millions' of members and 3000 new members every day" I shout at the blank screen "so what do you mean no profiles found?" Really I am selective but not that selective. It was because I live in our lovely countryside, not in London or New York. I did however date regularly and met some really nice, genuine guys but usually at the other end of the country or in large cities (nice if that is your choice of lifestyle but I happen to like fresh air, muddy wellies and lots of green).

My brother works with horses and despite meeting so many women through his work he never met that someone special. My Mum and I, being the busybodies that we are, registered him for one of the sites I used at the time. He didn't react too well when we informed him but soon changed his mind when he started getting loads of emails from really great ladies. Within a few short months he was, and remains, happily married. It worked and I got rid of an annoying brother when he moved to Scotland to be with his new wife - it's just all positives.

That is when my personal crusade began. I decided to begin designing the Country Couples website, a place where you can metaphorically kick off your wellies, move the cat from your chair, grab a cuppa and have some fun. During my research I was told by people in the know "you will have to invent your first 100 members, affiliate with other sites, puts ads on the site and allow adult content" - no thank you, I did none of these.

My aim was to create a community where people of all ages would feel welcome, safe and have some fun. Members can communicate one to one or as a group on the forum. The forum has a thread called Dating Horror Stories and I have shared some of my more embarrassing experiences in the hope that you can learn from my mistakes. Feel free to share your horror stories, I enjoy a good laugh!!

Please let me know what you think of the site, make suggestions for new features and share your success stories. I am a real person not a company, my heart and soul has gone into this site and I want you to enjoy your time with us and be successful in finding your dream, so please contact me whenever you need help. Oh and I am a great wedding guest, I don't drink so make a good taxi driver.
